Abstract

This symposium is organized and presented by the Galveston Bay Estuary Program in accordance with The Galveston Bay Plan. Symposiums will be held on a regular basis to discuss important management and technical issues related to the bay. More specifically, the symposiums will provide a forum for dissemination of research results, develop consensus for actions, encourage interaction among researchers, managers and the public, and improve opportunities and visibility relevant to funding needs. Areas of interest include habitat protection, species protection, public health, freshwater inflow, circulation, shoreline management, water quality, sediment quality, nonpoint source pollution, point source pollution, research, and education.
