Abstract
This article presents the results of a 1993-94 study in which the average contaminant conditions in estuarine sediments is determined and compared to data from previous studies. The study consisted of 281 sites in the Gulf of Mexico and analyzed several classes of organic and organometallic compounds. The intent was to comprehensively characterize the Gulf using a random regional scale.
