Abstract

The goal of this particular study was two-fold. The first part focused on identifying changes in wetland distribution, in specified areas, due to dredging activities and assessing the utility of selected data sets for monitoring these impacts. The second part centered on providing guidance for minimizing or avoiding adverse impacts related to dredging and dredged material placement in coastal wetlands. The latter part involved establishing a specific methodology for acquiring and assessing data. This methodology was then tested for validity based on accuracy and thoroughness. Two study sites were selected and results are included.
