Abstract

Thomas R. Hester, Professor of Archeology and Director of the Texas Archeology Research Laboratory, discusses the pre-archaic people of the Texas coast. The time period dates back to 11,000 years ago with the region being the Central, Southern, and Lower Pecos coast area. Slides were presented showing the materials used by people, isolated burial grounds, and developments in the different regions. He also compares and contrasts the artifacts found in the different coastal areas.
