Northwestern Gulf of Mexico marine fisheries investigation study no. 2.

Results of three studies are reported. The first was a study of growth rates, seasonal abundance, distribution, spawning habits, food preferences and existing fishery of the red snapper (Lutjanus campechanus). The second study was to define the inshore midwater and surface water school fish in order to determine species present, seasonal populations, and fishing methods. The third was to determine the migration patterns and population dynamics of commercial shrimp in order to monitor trends in the fishery and to continue biological advisement for management purposes.
