Abstract

This articles discusses the amount of fish kills present in the Pecos River and the Trinity River, Texas. Wastewater, toxic chemicals, and urban runoff are the suggested causes of the fish kills in Trinity River while poisonous algae are linked to the fish kills in the Pecos. The article continues to discuss the statistics of the number of fish kills, the possible causes and prevention of these fish kills, and the economic cost of prevention and conservation.
