Abstract
The Port of Houston Authority (PHA) plans to develop a marine terminal complex on 1050 acres along the south side of the Bayport Ship Channel. This site is five miles south of the existing facilities at Barbours Cut Terminal. Facilities for docking, loading, and unloading container and cruise ships, container storage areas, and an intermodal yard, warehousing facilities, and properties available for light-industrial development will be included. Access for vehicles, trains, and ships will be improved. This complex will be developed over the next 10 to 20 years in phases.
