Abstract

This summary encapsulates the initiatives of the developing Galveston Bay Plan, the Plan consists of fifteen action plans, eleven of which directly address estuarine problems identified by consensus. Areas of concern are water and sediment quality improvement, habitat and living resource conservation, balanced human uses, and implementation support. Four additional action plans support the listed management initiatives with monitoring, data management, research, and public participation activities necessary for implementation.
