Abstract
A general approach to the marine algae of the Gulf of Mexico is taken by describing the more striking floristic elements of several characteristic Gulf Coast habitats. Local features of the Gulf Coast algal flora are reviewed from the Dry Tortugas through Mexico, including the coast of Cuba.
