This study is concerned with the species diversity and abundance of several major groups of estuarine animals inhabiting the areas affected by the activities of the Cedar Bayou Generating Station, a new steam electric station under construction for Houston Lighting and Power Company. Emphasis has been placed on the macro-benthos, macro-zooplankton, and non-planktonic crustacea and fishes. The following report presents preliminary analyses of a portion of those data collected prior to any disturbance of the bay areas by construction activity or plant operations.
