Abstract

Reservoir-type fishing demands are adequately met in the upper portion of the subbasin where the greatest human population exists. In the lower part of the subbasin, reservoir-type fishing facilities are lacking and people must rely on estuarine fisheries or travel great distances to fish. Construction of two reservoirs in the lower subbasin would partially alleviate the heavy demand created primarily by residents of the San Jacinto subbasin and possibly provide a refuge area of national importance for waterfowl on the lowermost project.
