Tidal monitoring on the upper Texas Coast

There are many uses for tidal water level data. For example, the TWDB requires such data as input to a mathematical model of the bays and estuaries of the Texas coast to enable the forecasting of freshwater requirements. The TGLO is responsible for all state owned lands and submerged territories in Texas to a distance offshore of 9 nautical miles. Tidal data is necessary to determine the boundary of such submerged waters. NOS is a traditional user of data for predicting tides for navigational purposes and for mean sea level rise. Also, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) requires data for all coastal engineering projects.
