Abstract

Obviously, research into hydrology and climatology plays an important role in the water resources management and development of Texas. Without the information produced by these two fields, we would have little basis for making the decisions necessary for operation of our complex water supply and waste treatment systems. A need we have in Texas today is to spend our limited research funds to obtain research results that will best address our water operations and management needs. One of the areas identified for consideration is hydrology and climatology. Both of these fields related to the basic of all water issues, water availability. Climatology looks at how nature provides water over the long- term and hydrology considers the more near-term aspects of water movement and quality.
