Abstract

This waste load evaluation was developed pursuant to Section 35.1521-4(a) of Title 40 of the 1981 Code of Federal Regulations. The purpose of this study is to define waste treatment levels that will result in the stream segments meeting applicable stream standards. The water quality parameter being evaluated in this analysis is dissolved oxygen. A waste load evaluation for the Houston Ship Channel (Segments 1005, 1006, 1007, 2426, 2427, 2428, 2429, 2430, and 2436) was prepared and adopted by the Texas Water Quality Board on September 25, 1974. A waste load evaluation for the San Jacinto River Tidal (Segment 1001) was prepared and adopted by the Texas Department of Water Resources on October 24, 1978. This report updates and amends these waste load evaluations in order to reflect revised waste load projections and is based on the information that was available as of June 2, 1982.
