A summary of comprehensive water quality management planning for the Trinity River Basin, Texas.

The preparation of this comprehensive water quality management plan began in January, 1972, pursuant to the requirements of Section 3(c), PL 84-660, as in effect at that time. In October, 1972, the Federal Water Pollution Control Act Amendments of 1972 (PL 92-500) were passed. Pursuant to Section 303(e) of this Act, Basin Plans of a slightly different nature were to be developed in accordance with EPA guidelines 40 CFR 130 and 131. In order to satisfy the requirements of both the Section 3(c) Basin Plan and the CFR 131 Basin Plan, the various reports were prepared.
