Abstract
A total of 114,297 redheads was recorded for the Texas Gulf Coast in January, 1973. This contrasted sharply with the 246,671 redheads recorded in the December, 1972 survey. Reports were received of large rafts of redheads in the Laguna Madre of Mexico which could account for the decreased January, 1973 figure. Sex ratio counts of redhead flocks in the Laguna Madre yielded a total of 7,177 males and 3,940 females for a 1.82:1 male to female ratio.
