Abstract
Keys are presented to facilitate both field and laboratory identificiation of the 14 genera and 47 species of flatfishes in the western North Atlantic. Illustrations for 46 species, the salient familial and subfamilial characteristics, and short descriptions with geographic and bathymetric distributions are given.
