Abstract
Previous research efforts relating to inspector error have been mostly confined to an examination of the factors which influence inspector error and the development of techniques to compensate for the presence of inspector error. In the previous research major effort has not been given to cost as a criterion for the selection of sampling plans. Hence, the purpose of this work is to develop a solution procedure which will enable the selection of a single sampling plan which will satisfy a minimum cost criterion—with or without inspector error.
