Abstract
Letter written at Athenaeum Club; Pall Mall, London, England to Miss Stanley, regarding the English school system.
Description
July 19th. My dear Miss Stanley, I think the girls have done better this year: their Grammar was a surprise to me when I examined them in it. But their paperwork has not yet reached me from Mr. Henling; in my report on the school you will see my opinion of Miss Burtons’ work. I believe that the transfer of the schools to the London School Board is quite decided upon.
I was sorry not to see you at the schools, but some one said you were gone out of town. Sincerely yours, Matthew Arnold.
