Abstract
The history of the T.S. Texas Clipper and its purpose at Texas A&M University at Galveston as a training vessel are described in full. While docked, cargo handling, boat operations, life boat drills, and engine and machinery maintenance are used for practical training. At sea, cadets must advance from junior-level billets to supervised operation of the Clipper in three 10-week cruises.
