Abstract

Senate Current Resolution No. 38, 61st Legislature, directed the Interagency Council on Natural Resources and the Environment to conduct a comprehensive investigation and analysis of the State's coastal zone. This grew from a realization of the conflicting and competing used of the State's vast array of coastal resources. The program evolved into the Coastal Resources Management Program of Texas in the Natural Resources Section of the Division of Planning Coordination. This review draft includes a look into man and his activities in the coastal zone, as well as a number of specific legislative action recommendations.
