Abstract

Aerial inventory on or about the 15th of each month, October through January. These monthly flights covered all of the marshes and bays, as well as a portion of the rice belt. All known concentration sites of both ducks and geese in the area were flown. The flights covered an estimated 2,300 square miles each month. Species identification and an estimate of the number of birds of each species were made, and the data recorded on previously prepared inventory sheets. Time of day and location of the birds were also recorded, both by county and by local area.
