Training and leisure pool complex in Vail, Colorado

Abstract

Movement is strongly represented in art, music, and; most importantly, in architecture (Brommer, p. 19). As in any composition, movement is one of the key components that makes a design successful. This program is written for the design of a Training and Leisure Pool Complex in Vail, Colorado. The facility will be approximately 60,000 square feet and can be divided into two concise functions. First, it will provide a place for the serious swimmer to train and compete. Second, this complex will respond to the leisure and recreational needs of the Community. Vail has long been on the international scene and is the subject for substantial tourism from people all around the globe. This complex will address Vail's internationally and provide a state-of-the-art image. Therefore, the Vail Training and Leisure Pool Complex will provide a strong sense of movement, will respond to both the competitive swimmer, as well as the recreational and leisure needs of the community, and will project an international, state-of-the-art image.
