Abstract
An acute bout of moderate-intensity aerobic exercise decreases state anxiety in response to emotional stimuli. Those who practice yoga on a continual basis have demonstrated improvements in self-awareness and control. However, the effectiveness of an acute YogaFit session on anxiety and stress reactivity in response to emotional stimuli has not been demonstrated. The purpose of this study was to examine the effectiveness of an acute YogaFit session versus an acute period of quiet rest for short-term protection against emotional stimuli in college age women.
