Abstract

Ship Name: Arno; Sailed: 1893-1912; Type: Steel 3-masted; Built by: Glasgow, Scotland by Charles Connell; Dimensions: 270.7' x 39' x 22.5'; Tonnage: 1825 tons.

Description

Connell’s ships had trademark features: single topgallants, one-piece pole lower and topmasts, raised forecastle and poop, etc. Arno is a little different in that there is a skysail at the main and the charthouse so often seen on Connell’s ships is absent. Arno was built for James Nourse but later sailed Norwegian and went missing in 1912.
