My dear Hughes
I am driven so hard this month that I cannot possibly undertake the Crystal Palace Examination. But I will come and lunch with you on the 12th with pleasure. Lord Granville is always good ____, and then too it is painfully true that I have not set eyes upon your wife for months and years.
