Abstract

The purpose of this study is to estimate the female labor force participation rates of females from different cultural backgrounds in the U.S. labor market. Factors related to culture and environment as well as contacts with other ethnic groups were cited among the major causes of variation in women's economic behavior. This study attempts to analyze whether ethnic differences work to the disadvantage of Asian women in the same way as black and Hispanic women.
