Title: Frequency of stuttering in relation to emotionality of speech context
Author: Irvin, Jerry
Abstract: It is the feeling of the present author , however , that propositionality and its effect of increase in stuttering behavior is a function of context as well as of specific word factors and that context , as a result , is a significant variable in stuttering behavior . In the opinion of this author , the effect of context is based on the factor of emotionality . For that reason , the present study was undertaken in order to measure the relative frequency of stuttering on constant words in situations characterized by varying amounts of emotionality .
