Abstract: Texas is best known for cattle , the contribution of the Angora goat and mohair industry to the state's agriculutral history has been overlooked . The 1950's proved to be a crucial decade for this important industry . During this time , natural diaster in the form of a seven year drought coupled with conficting governmental policies to alter the nature of the Texas mohair industry .
