Abstract

Autoclaved aerated concrete (AAC) is a lightweight cellular building material. In Spring 2008, an experimental study was conducted at The University of Texas at Austin to evaluate the load-deflection behavior and capacity of six different factory-reinforced AAC lintel groups. The results the test program are used to evaluate the shear design provisions of ACI 523.4R “Guide for Design and Construction with AAC Panels”.
