Abstract

Long term monitoring records for the Galveston Bay estuary are collected and maintained by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) and the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD). Water and sediment quality are monitored by the TCEQ to provide information on environmental change and potential impacts on human health and quality of life. Abundance of living aquatic resources is monitored by the TPWD to provide information on the health of the ecosystem and the potential impact on human commercial and recreational activities..... The presence and absence of spatial variation for a selected group of parameters will be discussed.
