Abstract

This document is about the various forms of assistance by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in shore protection projects...The Corps of Engineers has been developing methods of shore protection since 1930.Continuing investigations by the Corps' Coastal Engineering Research Center expand knowledge and understanding of the physical phenomena, principles, techniques, and procedures related to the protection and restoration of our beaches and shores. Continuing construction of shore protection and restoration facilities reinforces the technical and construction "know-how" that produces sound economical solutions.
