Abstract: One of the priority problems identified by the Galveston Bay National Estuary Program is the abundance and impact of floating, submerged and shoreline debris on the Galveston Bay estuary. The purpose of this study was to compile debris data to determine the magnitude and distribution of debris and to evaluate the possible sources and effects of these materials in the Galveston Estuary.
