Abstract

This pamphlet describes the roles of the 5 branches of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Departments, Fisheries Division. The branches are: 1) the Inland Fisheries Branch, which monitors and manages the freshwater resources of Texas, 2) the Coastal Fisheries Branch, which is responsible for the management of the coastal or saltwater resources, 3) the Habitat Enhancement Branch, which enhances fish habitat through management of aquatic vegetation or through building fish - attracting structures, 4) the Resource Protection Branch, which evaluates actions that may affect the quality or well-being of the resource through pollution surveillance and permit reviews, and 5) the Fish Hatcheries Branch, which is responsible for producing the number and variety of fish necessary for stocking the state's public waters.
