Abstract

Models have been developed by Texas Department of Water Resources (TDWR) of circulation and mass transport of the bay systems and rivers of Texas based on previous studies conducted by the TDWR. In this study, the authors applied these models to the deltaic system of the Trinity River. An existing one- dimensional hydrodynamic model was expanded to include simulation of nutrient constituents in the deltaic system. This report presents: 1) the formulation of the hydrodynamic model, 2) the applications and verifications of this model, 3) the formulation of a mass transfer model, 4) the applications of this model, and 5) conclusions and recommendations.
