Abstract
The contract period March 20, 1967 - March 19, 1968 has been devoted mainly to the collection of general information concerning the sediments, mineralogy and geochemistry of the Gulf of Mexico. In addition to this, techniques for specific laboratory procedures were developed and equipment ordered to carry out the necessary analyses. Additional corers were constructed in order to increase the shipboard sampling program. Progress on completing this equipment has been extensively reported in the progress reports.
