Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to qualitatively examine the nektonic population of the inland portion (Morgan's Point to the Turning basin) of the Houston Ship Channel, for comparison to studies by Chambers and Sparks (1959); to analyze the environment as an aerobic one, i.e., to determine its capability for supporting aquatic life in terms of dissolved oxygen; and to investigate some of the environmental parameters which surround the phenomena known as fish kills.
