Abstract
This study covers the mechanisms of pollution dispersal and accumulation of dichlorodiphenylethylene (DDT) in southern Texas coastal-zone sediments. The major objectives include: (1) to determine the DDT profile in sediment cores from the Arroyo Colorado subdelta of the Rio Grande delta; (2) to determine the mechanisms of DDT dispersal, accumulation, and post-depositional modification; and (3) to identify and evaluate DDT sinks in the study area.
