Abstract
This study specifically addresses the economic feasibility of improvements to the Houston Ship Channel (HSC), its ancillary channels, and the Galveston Channel, as well as the environmental, social, and local economic impacts of such improvements. Economic aspects include quantifying navigation inefficiencies and safety problems. Impact studies, developed through the scoping process, include effects on significant biological reosurces as well as effects on significant biological resources as well as effects on the study area economy and population.
