Abstract

Clear Creek is the major tributary of the Clear Lake drainage basin and originates about 40 miles upstream of the lake. This survey measured releases of BOD, ortho-phosphate, and inorganic nitrogen from 16 waste dischargers. Measurements taken included stream flow, pH, water temperature, and concentrations of phosphorus, nitrogen, organic material, chloride, and dissolved oxygen. Chemical parameters measured in sediments included kjeldahl nitrogen, chemical oxygen, volatile solids, phosphorus, oil and grease, and trace metals.
