Abstract

This paper summarizes the meager data concerning the distribution of chaetognaths in the Gulf of Mexico. Fourteen valid species of chaetognaths have been collected from this area. Five of these were from the waters of the west coast of Florida. Only one, Sagitta enflata, was common to the inshore and offshore samples. The distributions of some of the neritic species are in certain cases all defined and decidedly limited in their offshore range.
