Guided field trips/field labs: Choose from these 1-hr. activities:  beach and surf exploration (includes seining in the surf); marsh and mudflats exploration (includes seining in the marsh); prairie walk (includes insect gathering or birding, we supply binoculars); dipping for freshwater pond life; water quality testing
2. Teacher Training: Treasures of the Bay is four full days of hands-on get-wet exploration of the Galveston Bay Area guided by experts in each of the ecosystems teachers learn about.  The course includes seining, kayaking, birding, water quality testing and much more.  Teachers receive a notebook of resource materials.  The course is scheduled June 17-20, 2008.  Registration is $25 and is limited to 20 participants.  Contact Julie Massey jmassey@ag.tamu.edu (281) 534-3413 to register

1. Ozone Theater is an interactive activity that teaches children what air pollution is, where it comes from, and what they can do about it. Grades K-5

A trained leader goes to the classroom to conduct the activity. Each student receives a reminder bookmark and the teacher is given an Activity Guide of extension activities.

This unique, exciting and adventurous program provides students with water-borne educational experiences aboard Coast Guard certified boats that serve as floating classrooms. During their BaySmart excursion, students observe and learn about the intermix of nature, industry and recreation. They learn about what has been done, what is being done and what is proposed relative to harmonizing the diverse interests in Galveston Bay. Students also see the application of school work to real-life situations.
